On the second day of SNEC, Osda Solar hosted a grand certification ceremony at its booth, officially receiving the world’s first TÜV Rheinland certifications for both N-type TOPCon dual-glass desert PV modules and 0BB technology. This milestone underscores Osda Solar’s breakthrough achievements in PV innovation and product excellence.

With their abundant sunlight and vast open spaces, desert regions are becoming prime locations for large-scale photovoltaic deployment. Yet the harsh desert environment—marked by intense UV radiation, extreme heat, wide day-to-night temperature swings, and sand-driven abrasion—poses serious challenges to the long-term reliability of PV modules. TÜV Rheinland’s Desert PV Component Standard defines clear technical requirements and test methods for modules operating in these conditions, helping manufacturers optimize product design and enhance both weather resistance and cost-effectiveness.

Osda Solar’s N-type TOPCon bifacial glass-glass modules have successfully completed TÜV Rheinland’s rigorous 3.5-month test program, making Osda one of the first companies worldwide to earn the Desert PV Component certification. 0BB Technology Certification: Revolutionary Process Driving Industry Upgrade

0BB is a cutting-edge PV technology that eliminates the traditional busbars and keeps only the fine fingers (sub-grids). Current collection and cell interconnection are then handled in the module stage by ribbons or polymer films embedded with metallic wires, creating a truly “busbar-free” architecture. The advantages are compelling: silver paste consumption drops by roughly 30 %, ribbon usage by 10 %, and encapsulant film by 30 %, while wafer thickness can be reduced to 100 µm for further cost compression. At the same time, removing busbars enlarges the active light-receiving area, and the dense solder joints shorten the current path, markedly boosting both conversion efficiency and long-term reliability.
