Recently, the 5.6 MWp distributed PV project for Shandong Hongyuan Intelligent Equipment Vehicle Co., Ltd. — invested, constructed, owned and operated long-term by OSDA Solar — has entered the final construction phase and is soon to be grid-connected.
Shandong Hongyuan Intelligent Equipment Vehicle Co., Ltd. belongs to a Fortune Global 500 group. Leveraging the group’s advantages in the aluminum industrial chain, it focuses on the R&D and manufacturing of all-aluminum semi-trailers, all-aluminum containers and special sanitation vehicles. Adopting OSDA’s Invest-Build-Own-Operate (IBOO) model, this project fully taps the value of rooftop resources at the plant and builds a “Manufacturing + PV” integrated low-carbon model tailored to local conditions.
The project covers rooftops of four major workshops of Hongyuan: assembly, welding, coating and final assembly. It features a DC installed capacity of approximately 5.6 MWp and an AC grid-tied capacity of 4.6 MW, with a total of 7,564 OSDA PV modules deployed. Taking into account differences in rooftop area, orientation and structural conditions across buildings, the design primarily uses high-power 710 W modules flexibly mixed with other specifications to unlock maximum power generation potential from the rooftops.
OSDA TOPCon modules deliver high output, low degradation, excellent temperature coefficients and strong low-light performance. Even under challenging site conditions such as high ambient temperature and fluctuating irradiance, they maintain stable power output, providing reliable hardware support over the plant’s 20+ year lifecycle.
Calculations show the project is expected to generate around 5.3 million kWh of electricity per year. It will save roughly 1,600 tons of standard coal and cut CO₂ emissions by about 4,200 tons annually. Thirteen 380 V grid connection points are arranged for the self-consumption priority mode. Solar green power is supplied to the four workshops for production first, and any surplus electricity is fed into the public grid. This eases the factory’s power supply pressure and supports its green factory development.
Completion of the solar plant is only the starting point; full-lifecycle operation determines its long-term value. After grid connection, OSDA will take full responsibility for O&M of the station. Using remote monitoring, periodic inspections, rapid fault response, together with renewable generation forecasting, load analysis and source-load coordination optimization technologies, we continuously track plant output and factory power consumption, identify generation losses promptly, and boost local consumption of green power and operational efficiency.
Backed by the group’s robust R&D capability, two innovations developed by the Group Research Institute and Power Division have won the First and Second Prizes for Scientific and Technological Progress from the China General Chamber of Commerce. Covering core technical areas, they form a solid technical foundation for smart O&M of C&I solar assets.
The Shandong Hongyuan Intelligent Equipment PV project marks another practical case of OSDA serving the real economy with renewable power. Going forward, OSDA will continue to deploy PV, energy storage and smart energy solutions across more industrial scenarios, bringing green power to thousands of industries.
